Blondshell in Toronto

LA Indie Rocker Levels Up

Making her Toronto debut back in January 2023, Sabrina Teitelbaum as Blondshell found a room full of new fans opening for Suki Waterhouse at the (then) Axis Club. Returning later that year to the Garrison, Blondshell since had to be upgraded from the (now) Mod Club to the Phoenix on June 16. The house was packed on the night, clearly demonstrating a new northern homebase on Teitelbaum’s tour to support her second full-length release, If You Asked For A Picture (released on May 2, 2025, via Partisan Records). Coming out swinging with 23’s A Baby, Toy, Docket, Sepsis, and Veronica Mars, Blondshell touched on not only the new album and 2023’s self-titled album, but they threw in a cover of Addison Rae’s Diet Pepsi.

Returning the favour to Toronto, Blondshell brought Nashville singer-songwriter, meg elsier to open the show. A powerhouse of energy and vocals, meg (who apparently eschews capital letters and spaces) charmed the audience with appreciative banter and a collection of brilliant songs. With an upcoming deluxe rerelease of her 2024 album, spittake, elsier cleverly introduced her new single, sportscar [scrapped]. by offering the cars driven by the band. She drives a Subaru, if curious.

The If You Asked For A Picture tour rolls south for the next week before Blondshell hits Europe for festival season. More info on those shows here.
