Porno For Pyros Say Farewell To Toronto

Formed in 1992 from the ashes of Jane’s Addiction, Porno For Pyros featured former members, singer Perry Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins. Joined by guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Martyn LeNoble, the LA quartet rose up the charts via the song, Pets off their self-titled 1993 album. Releasing their last, latest, or farewell album, Good God’s Urge three years later, the album saw the departure of LeNoble and welcomed punk bass king, Mike Watt to the band. The group’s dormancy began in 1998 but was broken up by a one-off Perry Ferrell birthday gig in 2009 and a 2020 Lollapalooza appearance. However, PFP returned to some regularity in 2022 leading up to their Horns, Thorns en Halos Farewell Tour in 2024. Joined by hometown keyboardist Robin Hatch and backup singer Etty Lau Farrell, Porno For Pyros said farewell to Toronto on February 27 at History before an eager crowd.

Opening the night and making new fans was Brighton, UK’s Tigercub. The tour continues on March 5 in Boston before shows in Port Chester, NY on the 7th, NYC the following night, and finally on March 10 in Montclair, NJ. Will more shows continue the farewell tour? Time will tell.
