The Lumineers returned to Toronto at the Budweiser Stage for the first of two nights of their Automatic Tour shows in Toronto.

The band, led by Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites shared that they have been singing together for 20 years. The set list included newer songs like Same Old Song, You’re All I Got, Asshole, Ativan and Automatic. The band shared stories about the meaning of some songs, Ativan coming from the perspective of the drug itself, You’re All I Got as a song between Schultz and Fraites. Scultz, always a man of the people, joined the crowd for Brightside climbing his way to the lawn section and back down and going into the pit for Reprise. The band, of course, played old favourites like The Big Parade and Hey Ho, as well as songs from their album Cleopatra like Ophelia and songs from III like Gloria and Donna.

The Lumineers are always an energetic group, with members tossing tambourines, taking turns singing verses during Big Parade and commanding the stage like a playground. The visuals kept with the theme of each album including mixing moments from music videos into cinemascapes. The crowd was on their feet from the start until the end, when The Lumineers surprised the crowd with Zach Bryan.

The Lumineers continue to tour North America until end of October, followed by Australia, New Sealand, Asia and South Africa. Learn more about their tour dates here: https://www.thelumineers.com/tour
