How Thermacell Saved Our Summer

Thermacell is a mosquito repellent using a product that spreads to repel mosquitoes from up to 20 feet away. As someone born in the east coast, I can confirm the annoyance and persistence of mosquitoes and how many different products I have used over the years from candles and sprays.

Recently, in Banff, my partner and I were eaten alive by mosquitoes, so coming back to Ontario to use Thermacell was just the relief I was hoping for in a box. While cottaging in Muskoka, we brought Thermacell which did as described. The E65 Rechargeable Mosquito Repeller and Fast Charging Dock was already charged upon opening with a cartridge of repeller in the box. Thermacell charges fully in just 2 hours, and offers 6.5 hours of continuous protection. We used the product while sitting on the patio, fishing by the water, and waiting for our bonfires to start at night.

It only takes 15 minutes for the Thermacell to fully protect you with your 20 foot radius while avoiding deet, smells, or smoke. The cartridge lasts 36 hours which lasted the majority of our cottage trip.

One word of caution – keep the top that screws onto the cartridge as it will leak through the top of the Thermacell during transportation if not kept upright. The machine also does not work while on the dock to ensure it isn’t left on unnecessarily so make sure it is only on the dock for charging purposes.
