David Burke, popularly known as d4vd, brought the Petals to Thorns tour to a sold-out crowd at the Velvet Underground on July 5, 2023. This is in support of his EP, released back in May of this year.

The intimate venue quickly filled with excited and eager fans as the floor was jam-packed within ten minutes after the doors opened. Fans had to claim spots and stand their ground long before the opener started.

When it came time for d4vd, everyone had their phones out in anticipation as his entrance was teased by the lighing signalling his way to the stage. The accompanying band got in their positions. They were followed by d4vd, who took the stage with high energy to kick off his set. The crowd easily reciprocated the same power as they sang their hearts out. The dedication was felt throughout the night.

With everyone in tune, it got louder as soon as Here with Me played. The viral hit catalyzed for him to reach new heights. He also performed an unreleased song to which he mentioned that it was influenced by the sound of Paramore, which the audience liked as they raised their hands and banged their heads back and forth. This highlighted how eclectic his sound is and how this will factor into developing his sound as he grows as an artist. A few more tracks then followed it before capping off the night.

d4vd put on an exemptional performance for his Toronto fans. He leaves a lasting impression that will keep everyone tuned in to what is next for the rising star.
