This Father’s Day think outside of the (Gift) Box

This year, we’re embracing a more inclusive definition of Father’s Day. We recognize that not everyone may have a father in their lives for many reasons, or they may identify another person in their lives as having that role.  No matter who that figure may be to you, we are here to help you celebrate them.  So this Father’s Day, we’re thinking outside the (gift) box when it comes to gift giving.  Check out our list of gift ideas for the paternal or simply parental figure in your life, no matter what you may call them.

Give dad the gift of good sound

Way back when mp3 players were just coming out, and the Apple iPod was making waves, I, being a rebel of course, was in search of an alternative.  I discovered Creative and their mp3 player offering and I was hooked.  When I learned that they now made earbuds, I knew I had found my Airpod alternative.  And if your dad is also into standing out from the crowd, they may be for him as well!  The Creative Zen Air are a new stick-shaped earbud design with a pocket-friendly charging case that is both stylish and lightweight. These true wireless earbuds come with noise control features such as Active Noise Cancellation for important conference call or listening to their favorite tunes or podcasts on the go without any interruptions, and Ambient Mode to let just the right amount of surrounding sound in.  When it comes to battery life, the Creative Zen Air can deliver a total playtime of up to 18 hours and up to 6 hours of playtime on a single charge.  They can also be charged wireless in their case for even more convenience.  These buds also feature10 mm Neodymium drivers, Bluetooth® 5.0 connectivity and a certified IPX4 sweatproof rating, and at 46g they are so light you forget you’re wearing them.

I am truly obsessed with the Creative Zen Air earbuds and I’m sure whoever you gift them to will be too.

Give dad the gift of organization

My dad may be on his way to retirement but he still works just as hard as ever, and from wherever he is.  He’s also been using the same printer he’s had from when I worked with him as a teenager, so this year I knew an upgrade was in order.  I love my Epson EcoTank ET-2850 Printer for printing photos, documents, and anything I need right from my home office, but I knew my dad needed more printing power for his needs.  The Epson EcoTank ET-4850 (MSRP: $649.99 CAD) is dad’s perfect printer that’s both easy to set up and use, and yields impressive results.  The EcoTank ET-4850 can print high res photos with the same ease that it prints return labels, and everything in between.  My dad also hates rebuying and replacing ink cartridges, but there’s none of that with Epson’s EcoTank printers, thanks to their high-capacity ink tanks that come with up to two years’ worth of ink in the box.

If you’re using traditional printers, it’s worth learning how to replace ink in an hp printer to keep everything running smoothly and avoid interruptions.

Help your father with his fitness routine

Whether your father figure is a fitness guru or prefers leisurely strolls for exercise and enjoyment, Niyama Wellness has products that help him stay on top of his health, and make great gifts too.  Their Clean Plant Protein Powder is vegan, all-natural and organic and contains 20g of organic plant-sourced protein plus fibre, vitamins and minerals in each scoop.  As well, Niyama’s After Practice Replenish and Repair is perfect for post workout replenishment.  Adding a scoop of After Practice Replenish and Repair to water helps replace and rebalance all 6 electrolyte minerals lost during sweating (or glowing?) and supports muscle repair to reduce soreness or stiffness.

Help your father with his facial care

All my life I’ve only ever seen my dad use an electric shaver.  Not one for the typical manual razor and shaving cream, he was an early adopter of technology and still is to this day.  For a dad like that, the Philips Shaver S9000 , Philips’ most advanced shaver to-date, is the gift that’s made to impress.  Powered by AI, the S9000 is part of its new generation of shavers with revolutionary SkinIQ technology that senses and adapts to individual needs.  It comes with Hair-Guide precision heads engineered for accuracy, and 360-degree, fully flexible heads, allowing dads with all facial hair and skin types to enjoy a smooth and effortless shaving experience. This shaver even comes with an app: GroomTribe. Co-developed alongside dermatologists and based on specific skin issues the app and shaver combo track the progress of the skin to create a truly personalized shave.
