Welcome to 2021, one of the most anticipated years in history. We just came out of a doozy, globally speaking, and many of us struggled in some way or another. I definitely let myself down in the selfcare department towards the end of 2020, and I’m sure I wasn’t alone. The holiday season is a great excuse to indulge in the food and beverage department. It’s easy to forget the last time you ate a vegetable or fruit, that wasn’t deep fried or soaked in alcohol. I know my poor digestive system did not have as happy of a new year as I did. So like me, you may be feeling just a little sluggish, just a little bloated, and just not quite your best, maybe you should join me in a different kind of toast than the one we shared on zoom on December 31st. Let’s open a bottle of RISE Kombucha to celebrate taking care of ourselves this year.
Reasons to RISE
It’s good for your gut
The endless fatty, carby goodness of holiday food may taste delicious in our mouths, but it’s not the kindest to our insides. After days of indulgences, it’s not a bad idea to do a reset when it comes to your gut health, and kombucha is a great tool to do just that. RISE Kombucha is filled with feel-good ingredients to promote gut and overall body health. Probiotics and organic acids (like gluconic, glucuronic and acetic) work together to support digestion, detoxify the liver, help balance internal PH and ensure we absorb more nutrients from the food we eat. I also really love that after indulging in the foods we love that hurt us, that we can sip on something delicious to help us feel better inside and out.
It’s good for your face
Did you know your gut health can manifest in your skin? It’s not quite as simple as the old “eating junk food leads to acne” tale we used to tell ourselves, but the same way our poor eating can manifest in an unhappy belly, inflammation from gut imbalance can manifest right on our faces. Congested skin, acne, redness and discomfort in our skin can all come from digestive imbalances. Incorporating probiotics in our diets can help keep our skin and stomachs happy. Studies have shown that probiotics like the ones found in RISE Kombucha can help improve acne, rosacea, eczema, and premature aging. As well, the teas and herbs used to brew kombucha are filled with antioxidants that help protect the cells of the body from damage. You may have heard of antioxidants from seeing them in many products that promote healthy skin. Think of it as getting a turbo boost of the antioxidants in your face cream, but in the form of a delicious drink.
It’s good for your soul
Yes, that may sound cheesy, but kombucha is not only good for your physical health, but your mental health as well.
Multiple studies have shown a positive correlation between healthy guts and healthy minds. Ingesting probiotics on the regular, through something like, you guessed it, kombucha, can actually help improve your mental health. Also, if you’re trying to lay off excessive caffeine or other “pick me up” type beverages, kombucha like RISE is naturally energizing due to the tea and herbs used to brew it. Drinking RISE in the morning can give you a little wake up without the crash or aftereffects that can come from caffeine, and help you feel better overall.
It’s actually just GOOD
It’s easy to incorporate a health supplement in your diet when it’s made with great ingredients, by a great, homegrown company, and tastes amazing as well. RISE is brewed and bottled in Montreal, using tea, sugar, and a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY), then adding different herbs, spices, and fruit for functionality and potency, and of course, flavour. RISE has created a great tasting kombucha, by combining this centuries-old recipe with new and innovative flavour combinations that are easy to drink with no vinegary taste. RISE Kombucha is gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO and uses only fresh and organic ingredients and no added colours or artificial flavours. All fruit and vegetable juices are fresh pressed internally. RISE has an extremely low alcohol and sugar content compared to some kombuchas (below 0.5% alc/vol. and only 5-7g of sugar per serving), and the highest concentration of probiotics, antioxidants, and organic acids.
But don’t just take my word for it. We checked in with an expert to ensure we were on the right track with our kombucha journey. Registered Dietician and Blogger Abbey Sharp has a ton of wellness and nutrition education and experience, and in her expert opinion, kombucha is a great weapon in our arsenal in the fight for good health. In her words:
“A lot of people don’t know this, but 70% of your immune system lives in your gut so keeping it strong and healthy is one of the best things you can do to support your health this colder season. I recommend getting in lots of fibre rich fruits and vegetables, and probiotic-rich foods and drinks like RISE Kombucha. RISE is packed with antioxidants, organic acids and probiotics for healthy digestion, plus it’s available in a wide range of flavours that taste great!”
You heard it here, RISE makes kombucha that tastes great and is great for you. You can even make cocktails with it, if you’re missing that holiday spirit, or just spirits in general. Check out this delicious recipe below!
