Most Time-Efficient Ways to Travel to Cuba from Canada or the USA

Cuba isn’t down the street, but it’s much closer than you think. Also, if you’re all about travelling on your terms, flying private instead of commercially is the way to go. Yes, you can quote us on that.

Our guide to enjoying is perfect for anyone wishing for a last-minute getaway or a well-planned adventure. Follow our tips, and you’ll not only get there fast but in style, too. It makes all the difference.

Jetting Off in Style and Why Charter Flights Win

If you’ve ever been stuck at the back of a queue, peering over someone’s shoulder, quietly dreaming of skipping the airport line, flying when you want, and having the cabin to yourself, hiring a private charter is your golden ticket. Moreover, you don’t have to be an A-list celebrity either. You can embrace what seems like a pipedream without the hassle, no crowds, no waiting, just pure convenience.

However, as convenient as that all sounds, schedules still need to be followed to get the most out of your experience, so let’s talk flight times:

  • From New York City to Havana: Around 3 hours and 40 minutes
  • Los Angeles to Havana: About 5 hours and 30 minutes
  • Dallas or Houston to Havana: Under 3 hours

Chartering a private plane gives you the freedom to start your trip the moment you leave home. And the comfort? It’s next level and plenty to write home about.

Outside of the scheduled departures and arrivals of planes, you call the shots on timing. No rushing, no stress. You show up at a private terminal, and because check-in takes just minutes, your bags go virtually straight onto the aircraft.

Inside? This is arguably the best part. It’s all about you—spacious seats, handpicked meals, and a crew just for you. Before panic ensues, you must know if you plan on travelling with your furry best friend or special gear. It’s totally fine. This is your flight, your way.

A private charter is also perfect if you’re flying from a city without a direct commercial route. With access to regional airports, you can avoid long layovers and make your route as efficient as possible.

Need to charter private plane services? You’re not limited to major airports. Private aviation works from regional airports, giving you more options and, you guessed it, more convenience.

Hello Havana! What to Expect When You Land

Get ready to feel the warmth—literally. Cuba always rolls out the red carpet. It welcomes you with sunshine, vibrant streets, and an infectious energy that’s impossible to resist.

  • Weather: The ‘Sugar Bowl of the World’ has gorgeous weather year-round, with temperatures in the mid-70s to mid-80s °F. From November to April, it’s the dry season, prime time and the sweet spot for travellers.
  • Food: Expect bold flavours, juicy grilled meats, fresh seafood, and plenty of tropical fruit. Try it all at local paladares—family-run restaurants that serve dishes with a home-cooked meal feel and elite Cuban cuisine flair.
  • Vibes: Totally unforgettable. The worst part of your trip will be knowing it has to end at some point. Walk through the cobbled streets of Old Havana, ride in a candy-colored classic car, or hit the beach in Varadero for that perfect mix of adventure and chill (without the Netflix).

If you’re itching for green scenery, head to Viñales. It has many stunning views, horseback trails, and the best hand-rolled cigars around.

Where to Go and What to Do

Cuba has plenty to explore—historical streets, sandy escapes, and buzzing nightlife.

Kick things off in Old Havana (Habana Vieja). It’s brimming with unique charm, lively music, and colourful architecture. Next, make sure not to forget a stop at El Floridita for a legendary daiquiri and a bit of Hemingway nostalgia.

For beach lovers, Varadero offers clear turquoise waters and soft sand—just a scenic two-hour ride from Havana.

Nature calling? Viñales Valley is perfect for a peaceful day out, with its rolling hills and tobacco farms.

When the sun sets, grab dinner at La Guarida—great food and even better rooftop views. Then head to Fabrica de Arte Cubano (FAC) for a mix of art, live performances, and a dance floor with feet that won’t stop shuffling till it’s late.

For music lovers, Casa de la Musica is a local favourite where you can dance the night away to the sounds of salsa and reggaetón.

Fast, Flexible, and Fun Travel

Chartering a private jet is the way to go for smart, flexible, and fun travel.

You’ll skip the headaches of traditional flying and enjoy a smooth, stylish journey. Everything is guaranteed to flow from the second you board to the moment you land.

And once you’re in Cuba? It’s all sunshine, music, good food, and incredible experiences waiting around every corner. So pack light, let your sense of adventure roam free, and make the most of it.
