Growing up in Canada, I became accustomed to snowy winters and relatively dry springs and summers, but as the years have passed, it seems there is less snow in the winter and more rain in the spring and even the summer. Like the changes in our climate, I needed to make some changes in my footwear.
Now, I don’t know if it’s aging because when I was a teenager and in my twenties, I didn’t care about comfort or having to walk a dog daily regardless of the weather, but where I am in life now, I really need some great waterproof footwear, and after I tested the Vessi Weekend Chelsea Waterproof Boots, I wanted to find some great sneakers that are waterproof too.
So, I picked up Soho Sneakers and the Cityscape Classic and put them to the test in snow, rain, and so much more; I also took them with me as I travelled through South America, and let me tell you, I’m glad I did.
The Soho Sneaker
This sleek, classic, and waterproof sneaker is made with vegan leather and Dyma-tex knit material, making it the perfect shoe to wander on a rainy day or wear out later that night.
I tested these over two months in different climates, conditions, and countries, and I’m happy to report that they are 100% waterproof. Even after a full day wandering around in wet weather, they are really comfy, especially for a tennis-style shoe. On top of that, they also look great.
You might be thinking, but white shoes will never stay clean. Well, I got them quite dirty while travelling, and when I got home, I cleaned them with some liquid soap, warm water, and a cloth, and they came clean. I then left them overnight to dry, and just like that, they looked good as new.
The Vessi Soho Sneakers come in seven colours, and men’s sizes range from six to fourteen. They are well-made, comfortable, and stylish and will keep you dry no matter the conditions. I’m ready to start puddle jumping again.
Now we know that the Soho is excellent, let’s take a look at the Cityscape Classic.
Cityscape Classic
I wanted a super lightweight, waterproof walking shoe for taking Manny (my dog) on his daily walks, so when I came across the Cityscape Classics from Vessi, I just had to test them out.
They are, of course, one hundred percent waterproof, super lightweight and very comfy underfoot, which means these shoes are perfect for being out with the dog no matter the weather.
The Cityscape Classics are made of vegan materials and offer a flexible, breathable upper knit, Dyma-tex 100% waterproof technology, removable insoles, reflective pull tabs, and an elastic ankle collar.
I’ve tested these shoes for the last two months, and I have to tell you, from wandering through South America to walking in the rain with Manny here in Toronto, these shoes keep you dry, are incredibly comfortable, are extremely lightweight, and are such a joy to walk in. They are exactly what I was looking for, so much so that I tell fellow dog owners when I’m out walking.
