Canadian rock duo Cleopatrick made their long-awaited return to Toronto for their last show of 2025 at HISTORY. Since their small headlining show three years ago, the duo has been touring all over America, Europe and Australia while releasing their second album, FAKE MOON in March. Opening the show were Toronto local bands The Effens and The OBGMs, who brought energy and fun to the crowd, filling the venue. With over two thousand fans piling up HISTORY, the crowd was pumped up to witness Cleopatrickโs biggest headlining show in Toronto.
Singer/guitarist Luke Gruntz and drummer Ian Fraser walked onstage as Luke hyped up the audience before starting their set with sanjake. Immediately, the front of the crowd yelled along to the words and moshed throughout the song as Luke matched their energy with electrifying guitar riffs and vocals, while Ian played his drums with force. Good Grief, and one of their latest releases, GUTS followed, and the energy kept going throughout the crowd.
The middle of the set featured slower, acoustic-driven tunes from their latest album, FAKE MOON. HAMMER and PLEASE showcased Cleopatrickโs diverse style as they went for an indie rock sound. But the duo knew to pick the pace back up with high-driven tunes such as OK and youth. Cleopatrick debuted a new song, BURNER PHONE, from their mixtape SCRAP released on Friday. The aggressive guitar riffs and deep bass sounded like another classic of the grunge rock sound from their previous releases, and they matched the crowdโs endless energy.
Playing in their first home show in three years, they ended the night with none other than their notable songs: hometown and FAMILY VAN. Endless jumping and crowd surfs from the crowd made for a successful last show of the year for Cleopatrick, and a well-deserved homecoming after many shows around the world.
