January 20 2026 was a special day for glaive, who took to Toronto’s DANFORTH MUSIC HALL while celebrating his 21st birthday. glaive gained popularity online, mainly through a streak of hyperpop songs in 2020, and has released multiple albums and EPs since, which only grew his fanbase. His newest album, Y’all, released in September of 2025, and brought along the Y’all Tour to accompany it.
glaive played a set of over twenty five songs, which all were loved by the crowd, with them mirroring the lyrics back to him. Some fan favourites include Foreigner, Appalachia, and Veni Vidi Vici. He even brought out kurtains, the opener of the show, for a few of their unreleased shared tracks. The show ended with an impressive performance of Asheville that left the crowd satisfied with the night.
Toronto has been known to go big on fan projects at concerts, and they stayed consistent this time. Fans were decked out in party hats to celebrate glaive’s birthday, sang him happy birthday, and even handed a Canadian flag that was signed with birthday wishes by many of those in the crowd on stage that glaive wrapped himself in while performing.
I talked with a fan, Morghan McCart, who was behind the party hat fan project, and was very pleased with the turnout, being quoted saying:
“Initially, I had a few people excitedly reach out to me as they realized glaive’s Toronto show fell on his birthday. From there, I instantly had the idea to buy some party hats to celebrate. I reached out to my friend Matylda to get help with figuring out what colours we should get, settling on green and white to match the Y’all album aesthetic, and how many we’d need for our group, which was compiled of fans who had been attending his former shows, some since 2022, while also ensuring we’d have some left over for other fans in line. It was super cool how many people were willing to participate, and how many people kept their hats on for the entire show! I keep looking at photos and videos posted and giggling at all the hats. We had set aside a hat for Glaive, but the string snapped before we could hand it over, but luckily someone on the other side of barricade offered up theirs, which he took and wore on stage, which was something I didn’t expect to happen.”
Beyond the fan project, the night was a huge success on all fronts, and just adds to the string of great shows in his tour, which will continue through February. Check out more from him on his website and Instagram.
