Winners from the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards

We were recently invited to the Canadian Screen Awards hosted at CBC Headquarters for a week of activities. The Canadian Screen Awards held by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television honours the best in these industries from Canada.

The Canadian Screen Awards, divided in various portions include The News, Entertainment, and Sports Awards, presented by CTV and hosted by Sarah Davis, The Television Craft Awards hosted by Andrew Phung, The Television program Performance Awards hosted by Keshia Chanté, The Documentary, Factual, Lifestyle, and Reality Awards, presented by CTV hosted by Anne-Marie Mediwake and The Cinematic Arts Awards, presented by Telefilm Canada, supported by Cineplex hosted by Sabine Daniel. These pre-event categories all lead up to the Canadian Screen Awards gala hosted by Mae Martin.

Major film winners include Blackberry, Infinity Pool, The Queen of My Dreams and Motherland. For television, winners included Little Bird, Bria Mack Gets a Life, Canada’s Drag Race: Canada VS The World, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, The Legacy Awards, The Marilyn Denis Show, ETalk: in Conversation with Jully Black, Entertainment Tonight Canada, Breakfast Television, The Hardy Boy and, Black Community Mixtapes. Special Award recipients include the Earle Grey Award to Patrick Huard, the Industry Leadership Award to Michael MacMillan, the Academy Icon Award to Denis Villeneuve, the Radius Award to Devery Jacobs and Lamar Johnson, the Gordon Sinclair Award for Broadcast Journalism to Paul Workman, the Sustainable Production Award to Jane Goodall: Reasons For Hope, Academy Board of Directors’ Tribute Award to Jeff Barnaby and John Brunton, the Changemaker Award to Tonya Williams and the Lifetime Achievement Award to Marily Denis.
