TESTED: Fitbit Versa 3

While the Fitbit became famous for counting steps, its selection of new products goes way beyond that. The Versa 3 from Fitbit is a whole new world documented right from your wrist, from a connected device to a sleep tracker to a step counter.

I have to admit, when I first heard about Fitbit, as an active person, I thought to myself, why would anyone want to count their steps. Years later, with a much better perspective and technology, I now see why many would like that and the other features the Fitbit Versa 3 offers.

First and foremost, the Fitbit Versa is a smartwatch. Next and rather obvious, the Versa 3 is a step tracker that keeps stats on your calories burned, active times or zones, distance, steps, floors, and even more. Set the clock to the look of your choice, and you’re ready to go.

Using the app, you can track and set goals for yourself. For example, I left my daily goal at 10,000 steps and wanted to stay active and maintain my exact weight, so as you make your way through the week, you can check in on the app while the Fitbit Versa 3 reminds you as you accomplish each and every goal.

If honestly a great digital cheerleader/ pat on the back.

You can review and see if you’ve gained or lost weight, find out when you’re most active and use the data to help you progress along the way, make a new plan or build on your existing one.

Even more fun, the app sends you badges letting you know what you’ve accomplished along the way, and since they are always fun and or silly, it works as a fun way to stay motivated.

While the above are all great, the part that I found the most useful for me was the sleep tracking. By wearing the watch to sleep at night, the Fitbit tracks your sleeping patterns, when you have a night of better or deeper sleep, and offers feedback through the data to hopefully help you better understand your sleep and help you get more!

That, coupled with the mediation and breathing breaks, which I did in the morning and shortly before bed each night, helped clear my head and focused on letting go and sleeping. Since I could watch what worked or affected my sleep (eating, stress, travel), I could make changes to help put myself in a better position for a great night’s sleep.

All and all, I’m a big fan and here is a recap of why:

Hundreds of Clock Faces

Choose from hundreds of watch faces to select the perfect fit for you. Even better, you can store up to five options to interchange as needed on your device.

Call, Text and Connect

Have an incoming call? Or an important text your expecting? The Fitbit Versa 3 will notify you of any incoming calls and texts in the notification centre. Simply swipe down to find the latest info, or see notifications as they come in.

You can set what you’re notified for in the settings.

Connect to and Play your Favourite Music

When you’re out walking the dog or going for a run, it’s just not the time to crack out your phone and start skipping through tracks, so having the connected music does make life easier.

You can also set up a wallet. The find my phone feature and many of your favourite apps to connect controls right from the Versa 3.

6+ Days Battery Life

With computers and phones, and an endless assortment of devices that need to be charged, it is super helpful that the Fitbit Versa 3 once needs charging once each week. If you don’t interact with the Fitbit much, it will last about eight days. If you use it often, about five.

Sleep Tracker

If you’re like us and would like a better understanding of your sleep patterns and how to learn to rest and relax, the combination of the sleep tracker and the medication features is genuinely helpful.

By seeing when you sleep best, how you sleep best, and what affects your sleep, you can better understand how to sleep better. That, mixed with learning to relax and clear your mind, may help you find a better method to the sleep madness.

After two months of testing, I have to admit that I love the Fitbit Versa 3, which I sport in the blue/gold combination. Still, it comes in so many choices and many great accessory options, so not only are you going to find many uses for this fantastic device, but you’re sure to find the perfect style match.
