Your Guide to St. Patrick’s Day in Toronto

Here at ADDICTED, we are all about having fun, so it comes as no surprise that we once again have you covered on the weekend of our fave Irish Holiday.

For those of you not aware, this Saturday, March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day and the celebrations will be epic and, they will start early.

We wanted to give our readers the tip-off we got from our friends over at Jameson Irish Whiskey about a very special weekend they have planned, and it all kicks off with a free show tomorrow night right here in Toronto!

This Friday, the Adelaide Music Hall will host Canadian indie rock band Hollerado as they perform a FREE show thanks to the good people at Jameson.

The band takes the stage at 9:30 pm, but doors will open at 8:00 pm with FREE Jameson samples and swag. The event is free but registration does not guarantee entry to Adelaide Hall, so get there early to avoid disappointment. The event is subject to capacity.

So what else is on tap for this epic St. Patrick’s Day weekend? Let’s begin!

Where to go:

Toronto has everything a St. Paddy’s reveller could ever dream of. Whether you’re looking to hang in the West End, have a can’t miss celebration in the downtown, an epic night out in the east – or all three – the curated guide below of where to celebrate has you covered.

What to drink:

Please, Skip the green beer and sláinte like a true Irishman with a classic Jameson, Ginger and Lime Cocktail. With three classic ingredients that bring out the best in each other, it’s the perfect libation to celebrate the big day.

Pro Tip: the ginger & lime cocktail is super light and fresh, unlike that heavy green beer… you’ll thank us come Sunday!

How to get there:

Ride the King & Queen streetcars on Sat. Mar. 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. for free, courtesy of Jameson Irish Whiskey. With the new pedestrian zone in effect on king street, you’ll not only ride for free you’ll get there in record time.

Pro tip: While aboard the streetcar, you’ll have a chance to jam out to tunes performed live by Canadian indie rock band Hollerado between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., so don’t miss out!

So this year, skip the green beer, save yourself some cash, and make sure you have a great time while drinking responsibly of course.

Cheers, and Happy St. Patricks Day!
