Born and raised in Newfoundland and living now on Vancouver Island, Steven Bowers released his fifth full length album on Feb. 12. Elk Island Park, produced by Jason Mingo and JUNO award-winning producer Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Yukon Blonde, Black Mountain).
About the album, as the release states: Steven Bowers writes songs that are as hooky as they are thoughtful, with a novelist’s grasp of the human condition, and a melody junkie’s thirst for pretty sounds., “The rain sounds at the beginning and end of the song Elk Island Park were recorded on the night my daughter was born. There was a thunderstorm that night.” Steven Bowers explains of the his fifth full length album’s title track. “It’s about hoping that the world gets better as she gets older.”
Bowers is on tour right now. Catch him when he comes to your city. In the meantime, watch the video for Bad Friend.
