Ask Your #womancrushwednesday with Jessi Cruickshank

This week’s #wcw is the incredibly funny and gorgeous Jessi Cruickshank! Jessi is one of Canada’s most beloved TV personalities, is host of CBC’s Canada’s Smartest Person which returns for its’ second season this fall, and the L.A. correspondent for eTalk. You also likely remember Jessi as the hilarious co-host of The Hills: Aftershow with Dan Levy. We asked the Jessi a few dating questions, and as you would have expected, her answers are adorable. Have a read while we discuss Slurpees, trips to the bank, and being totally awkward.

What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?
I generally gravitate towards someone who lights up a room. If someone walks into a space and has that contagious energy that makes people laugh, I’m usually in.

Who would you want to have make the first move?
In theory, I don’t mind making the first move. The problem is I never have ANY idea when someone is into me. I have always been completely oblivious to that. I’m always floored if someone I assumed was just a friend makes a move, and I usually respond by saying or doing something totally stupid and awkward and completely unsexy.

What is your ideal first date?
I don’t look for “romance”, I look for fun. Disneyland would be pretty awesome but I’m equally impressed if someone can make a trip to the bank fun. If we end up at 7/11 getting candy and Slurpees at midnight, it’s always a pretty good sign.

What’s your instant deal breaker?
If he doesn’t laugh at my jokes! I think a shared sense of humour is the foundation for any good relationship, so if we don’t find the same stupid things funny it’s never going to work!

Who do you go to for dating advice?
I haven’t gone on a “date” in so long; I think the last place I looked for dating advice was in Seventeen Magazine!
