U.S. Girls at the Horseshoe Tavern

After a summer on the festival circuit, U.S. Girls brought their show in support of this year’s In A Poem Unlimited to a sold out Lee’s Palace in Toronto. Battling feedback all night, singer Meghan Remy led the band through tracks off the newest record, as well as a few from the previous. With a full seven piece band backing her, the songs really filled out the room, though the sound issues persisted with Slim Twig’s deft guitar from the record being almost entirely lost among the mix. The band persevered through, and the record’s ingenious mix of post punk and funk had the crowd grooving along.
