Triumph and Disaster

With the recent boom in the grooming market, men are putting extra thought and effort into taking care of themselves, which includes skincare and haircare.

But what should you be using? What products work the best, and how often should you use them? Fortunately, we have all the answers and the right products to use thanks to our friends at Triumph and Disaster.

Triumph and Disaster pride themselves on delivering products built from the pillars of ritual, character and fate. Each product is infused with bespoke Triumph & Disaster aromas, natural blends of complex notes that evoke old fashioned values from simpler times. They don’t test on animals other than themselves and proudly utilise ingredients derived from nature but engineered with science, because they want to make clean, safe and efficient products that will make a difference. And that they do.

So what products should all you guys out there be using? Here are the details:

Wash your face. And I don’t mean with soap after you’ve already had your day; I mean at the start of it, when you need to clear the dirt and muck off your skin and greet what it holds fresh, as that’s one of the first “musts” to the laws of great skin, and looking your best.

Less is more. Especially when it comes to your face. Cleaning with normal soap will strip skin of protective natural oils,  leaving it dry and exposed. ‘Ritual Face Cleanser’ has been formulated to avoid drying and irritation by exploiting the natural benefits of Tamanu oil, Peppermint oil, Willow bark extract and Bentonite clay. A gentle, natural, peppermint scented formulation designed for everyday use, ‘Ritual’ gently dissolves grime while toning the skin, leaving you feeling fresh and looking bright.

USAGE: Every other day

KEY INGREDIENTS: Tamanu Oil, Peppermint Oil

A fresh face needs a weekly scrub, maybe twice a week if you are in the mood or get a little sun. The Rock & Roll Suicide is not only manly, but it keeps you looking like the best version of yourself, and your skin as fresh as it can be.

Skin grows old and peels naturally. Left to their own devices, dead layers of skin will sit on the surface until they either flake or are brushed away. Beneath dead skin pores build up deposits of sebum, the oil our skin naturally produces. Over time these deposits collect particles of dirt creating blackheads and unhealthy looking skin. Regular exfoliation with a well balanced and complete face scrub like Rock & Roll Suicide will remove this build up of unwanted material, cleaning out dirty pores and revealing the fresh layers of good skin underneath.

This product is one of my favorites of all time and I depend on this to keep my skin looking and feeling great.

USAGE: Once or twice a week

KEY INGREDIENTS: Volcanic Ash, Green Clay

Great styling is not only a must, but with great products, it’s also really easy — and for most of us guys, that’s what we want. A few easy steps that have us looking great with minimal effort; this pomade is easy as easy can be.

Ponsonby Pomade is a water based, nutrient-rich product that treats the hair and scalp while you use it.
Sangre de cargo or ‘Dragon’s Blood’ is a natural tree resin that combines with Harakeke (NZ Flax oil) to treat and balance the scalp while argan oil attacks split ends and promotes healthy hair growth – in one wave of the metaphorical comb, Ponsonby Pomade is redefining the category, proving that a pomade can both style your hair while also protecting it from damage, calming the scalp with natural, active ingredients and leaving both hair & scalp feeling clean and healthy.

USAGE: When needed

DIRECTIONS: Work a small amount of Ponsonby Pomade through dry or damp hair. Walk tall, run strong.

KEY INGREDIENTS: Dragons blood, Harakeke (NZ Flax), Argan

Soft notes of mint mix with Acacia Concinna, Desert Date & Tazmen Pepper to deliver a balanced, nourishing shampoo. Sulphate and silicone free, Triumph & Disaster Shampoo is enriched with hydrolysed keratin & argan oil that will leave hair and scalp cleansed, moisturised and becalmed.

Triumph & Disaster’s Acacia and Gypsophila shampoo is a deep cleansing, gentle foaming, 100% naturally derived shampoo. The formula is enhanced with fresh peppermint notes while Tazmen pepper actively treats the scalp, the keratin-rich formula ensures volume and structure are kept in balance and provides damaged hair the chance to recover and rebuild. Sulphate-free to avoid pore blockage and brittle hair, Triumph & Disaster Shampoo utilises gentle plant based cleansers to remove build up of excess oils and residual hair products, making for a genuine hair & scalp treatment that has been cunningly disguised as a humble shampoo.

USAGE: Daily

KEY INGREDIENTS: Hydrolysed Keratin, Argan oil, Acacia Concinna

Gameface moisturiser is a tool to serve and protect you against the elements. Specifically engineered to be light on the skin and easily absorbed, Gameface is a unique formulation of Jojoba extract, Horopito oil, Ponga fern (Cumungii) and Vitamin E, combined with a subtle infusion of essential oils to deliver a fragrance they call ‘smoke and wood.’ The result is a nutrient-rich, hydrating cream that will leave skin feeling toned, supple and fresh.

Trust me when I say that this might be the best moisturizer for men I have ever used, and that says a lot.
USAGE: Daily/ Twice Daily

KEY INGREDIENTS: Jojoba, Ponga, Horopito

Shampoo, moisturizer, pomade, scrub and cleanser. That’s all you need to keep yourself not only looking your best, but feeling your best as well — and that’s what matters, isn’t it?
