If you’ve walked out of your door, you’ve probably noticed it’s winter. Whether you are in the UK and have a light dusting, or in some part of the US and have a good amount or you’re like me in Toronto and have more than a foot of snow after the latest dump (which has now mostly melted) then you’re probably thinking it’s time to plan your escape.
I’d like to tell you that the cold weather will be gone before you know it, but I’d probably be liar so I won’t. What I will do is give you the perfect escape this winter; one that’s sure to bring a smile back to your face and put a spring back in your step.
This past month I had the pleasure to stay at Paradisus Los Cabos, and I have to say it was truly a special experience and a wonderful vacation.
When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly staff. As I checked in and made my way to my room, I had a glimpse into the grounds of the resort and upon first look, I was smiling from ear to ear.
As I was ushered into my room, I noticed that it was very clean, sleek, bright and luxurious while somehow being simple and cosy. It would be my home for the next few days as I took some time to relax, enjoy the cuisine on the resort and catch some sun.
For those of you that don’t know, it’s also winter in Mexico, and while their winter is nothing like ours, at this time of year it ranges from around 25 Celsius in the day, down to around 18 at night, which actually feels closer to around 30 during the day in the sun.
So, the weather is a perfect escape, not so hot as to throw your body out of whack, but hot enough that you’ll want to lap up the sun as much as you can. Not only that, the climate on the west coast aka Baja California; aka Los Cabos; aka Cabo, offers a dry heat, so it’s warm and fresh and not at all sticky. While I was there it was simply perfect.
Not only was the weather perfect, the food on – yes on – the resort was also exceptional. From the Royal Service breakfast on the terrace to lunch and dinner at La Palapa, to a stunning 6-course dinner at Gastro Bar (not included in the all inclusive package) I must say, I was blown away by the food.
Eggs Benny for breakfast, amazing steak burgers for lunch, real traditional Mexican or a slew of other appetising choices at every turn, and all without leaving the resort, which says a lot; especially since this is for all intents and purposes a boutique hotel.
It also has a boutique feel, partly because it’s a Paradisus and partly, as I’ve experienced staying at 3 over the past 6 months, because the staff at Paradisus are so special. They truly go above and beyond. Paradisus Los Cobos was no different; they made my stay simply perfect.
Not only did I have great food and service, but I also had precious time to relax and unwind. I made sure to make the most of it with 2 visits to the Yhi Spa. I had a wonderful massage and I enjoyed the amenities including a relaxation pool (the latter is included in the Royal Service package).
For those not yet aware, in case you fancy a little extra on top of the extra, you can upgrade to Royal Service when staying at Paradisus Los Cabos -and many others in the Paradisus family of resorts. It offers you a butler, access to special amenities and services, including private pool, restaurant, and so much more. It’s the ultimate way to vacation, hands down.
Did I mention the sunrises? You have to visit Cabo just for those alone! I snapped the pics below on the beach right in front of my hotel room, it was truly a magical moment.
So, great weather, amazing location, stunning views, wonderful staff, the list goes on and on and on for Paradisus Los Cabos. I suggest you pay a visit yourself and experience what this superb gem has to offer.
