Top 5 Co-Op Games Perfect for Couples

Games are way more fun when you play with friends, but should we also include our partners? Well, if you’re lucky enough to be with someone who understands and appreciates the wonderful world of gaming, then why not?

In addition, playing a game as a couple can be a wonderful bonding experience that could end up as one of the things you enjoy doing together (which is something specialists recommend). All you need is the best laptop for gaming to get started as it can greatly heighten the playing experience for both you and your partner. So, if you are with the right partner and want to try gaming as a couple, here are a few games to get you started.

#1: Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

The Lara Croft franchise is appealing to both men and women and features several great titles that have players solving puzzles and exploring ancient worlds. Even more, the main character is a badass drop-dead gorgeous woman who can handle herself in a difficult situation.

Now, the Temple of Osiris title is one of the most unique and adventurous, but it also has a co-op mode that lets you share the control with another gamer. Of course, there will also be intense moments during boss fights, when you may get at each other’s throats. But hey, each couple reacts differently.

#2: Castle Crashers

It’s funny, it’s a co-op, and it can be confusing at times – Castle Crashers has everything and more for a bit of fun on the couch with your significant other (talking about gaming here).

The fun part is that, besides the crazy characters and dynamic action, you can switch sides during the game. So, if you get your SO upset, don’t be surprised if they come at you with a machete (in the game)!

#3: Resident Evil 5

Who doesn’t like the idea of teaming up with their partner in a quest to save the world from zombies and other evil characters?

The entire Resident Evil franchise is built around this idea but the fifth instalment is the one we like to recommend for couples. However, it’s not for everyone, so if you don’t think your significant other can withstand the gore, you may want to ease them into the world of survival games with a First Person Shooter like Krunker.io.

#4: Arcade Games

If your partner is not that into First Person Shooters or exploring virtual worlds, they may enjoy a quick journey in the world of arcade games. Many of the old titles are available in the browser, so you don’t even have to install anything.

For instance, Snake is a classic that you can play on CrazyGames and there’s not much to explain to it. But there are other cool games available for free such as Mario or Space Invaders. Just ask them what they like and find the right online game to enjoy!

#5: Portal 2

If the first instalment of this game was all about finding your way out of a governmental building using portals, Portal 2 is about partnership and trust. This game will test your relationship and help you discover weaknesses you never knew were there, to begin with.

So, if you’re not ready to get to know your partner (and yourself) at a deeper level, it’s best to leave this one for the big league.

The secret behind every great co-op gaming experience is to have fun. So, make sure you choose a game that suits both of your skills and try not to turn against each other.
