Throwback Thursday Live Music Edition- Tove Lo at the Sound Academy

Ever since I heard the amazing Tove Lo on the radio, I’ve had an intense craving to see her live. Her album Queen of the Clounds is now a lifelong favorite of mine, and I was hoping that she would be as engaging live as on her album. And at the end of 2015 my craving was satiated and my hopes were confirmed – I got the chance to see Tove Lo’s incredible live performance as the pop star took over the stage at Toronto’s Sound Academy.

While the Swedish songstress may have gotten her start writing music for other people, she’s clearly in her element now as a performer in her own right. Barefoot in a mechanic’s jumpsuit, her energy was strong and wild, her passion contagious, as evidenced by the fans who were enraptured by her presence and performance. She dazzled the crowd with nearly the entirety of Queen of the Clouds, along with giving us all a taste of some long awaited new material, including  the powerful “Scream my name” from The Mockingjay  Soundtrack.

Impassioned expressions, heartfelt vocals and a blur of expressive hands charactized this incredible performance. Take a look at the photos below, and join me in my countdown to Tove Lo’s next performance in my town.
