The New Canadian Mens Must-Have

When it comes to living in Canada (or anywhere that gets rather cold), it pays to dress for the weather. Now that not only means having a great coat, it also means having that something extra for days without a coat when it gets warmer, or, as a much-needed underlayer when it drops below -15 degrees celsius.

So when I came across the Modern Melton Wool shirt from ANIÁN, I just had to test it out, and that I did.

Well made, and perfectly constructed, this quality and truly durable overshirt made of melton wool is what I’d now consider a necessary staple for every Canadian man (and any stylish lumberjacks around the globe).

Traditionally used in the making of pea coats worn by sailors, melton wool has a weave so tight that it makes it resistant to both wind and water. Its felt-like smooth surface lends itself to a world of luxury and comfort just as easily as it does to one of endurance. It’s also naturally breathable and insulating all at once.

The Melton is 80% Recycled Wool + 20% Nylon, MADE IN CANADA, ranging is size x-small – large and comes in a selection of nine great colours. It retails for CAD 189.00.

The colours, style and fit of these shirts are perfect for the modern man, while also offering protection from the elements may it be as an underlayer in winter, or a top layer for spring and fall. Since it’s still wintering coming into spring (fingers crossed), it’s the perfect time to pick up one, or maybe two for yourself today.

Here’s hoping for warmer weather and until that happens, be sure to bundle up.
