Anyone who knows me knows that I love the Shangri-la in Toronto, so when it was time to take some “me time” I thought, what better place to head to than the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie in the Shangri-la? And that’s exactly what I did.
As soon as you enter the stunning space, almost instantly you feel more relaxed just being there.
My journey (and yes you can call it that) started when I was greeted by the front desk staff and served a tea while I had a moment’s wait for my personal facialist. Is that a word? Well now it is. I went in for a 60 minute facial, the Men’s Vinothérapie® Facial to be exact, before which I was lead to the men’s change room to put my robe on and take a minute, and then I was brought to a private room for my treatment.
I laid down, got tucked in, and the 60 minute to follow was quite literally the best facial I have ever had, and I am no amateur when it comes to facials.
The Caudalie Grand Facial is “specially customized for men’s skin, relaxes your features, restores your radiant complexion, regulates moisture levels through a long relaxing massage, accelerates cellular renewal and improves your skin’s texture.” And let me tell you, when I went in, my skin was a bit dry, and I looked pretty tired, but by the time she was done I felt and looked great, my skin looked clearer, felt softer and most of all was so fresh and clean.
Along with the facial came a neck and shoulder massage that was truly heaven. I may or may not have fallen asleep several times due to that fact that it was so relaxing and for someone who never naps or falls asleep anywhere then in my bed, that says a lot.
After my treatment I was taken to relax in what I can only refer to as the “Zen Room” where I lay in a bed of pillows eating dates and nuts while sipping some delicious tea. I’m not sure how long I sat there for, but it probably goes without saying that I never wanted to leave.
So, the point to all of this, is A. You have to go! and B. You have to go! and C. If you are looking to really treat yourself or a loved one, I would always reccomened Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie in the Shangri-la since we could all use a little pampering, in little piece of heaven.
