Summertime means hot weather, patio time, drinks by the pool, hang time in the park and so much more. But just because it’s hot and we’re all into the lazy days of summer, we don’t get a free pass to look like too lazy to still be stylish – being well-dressed regardless of season is key!
So I thought: What better may to show off some of my favorite looks for men this summer then by enlisting the help of my boys from HiM and the perfect summer threads of Lacoste?
Founded in 1933 by famed tennis star René Lacoste, this French clothing company is known the world over for producing high-end clothing, footwear, perfume, leather goods, watches, eyewear, and, most famously, their iconic polo shirts. The brand can be recognized by its crocodile logo, which to this day is prominent in their marketing and branding (and if you want to show off your Lacoste swag, you can hashtag #Spotthecroc on social media!).
I have always been a big fan of Lacoste and really love the youthfulness of the brand, and their use of boldly vibrant colors, which inspired our photoshoot. Why not show off all some fun ways to inject colour into your style while still looking sharp and masculine?
Men may often shy away from bright hues and pastels, but what better way to make a statement then rolling up in a bright, blood orange short with a teal top, or wearing a crisp white shirt with a pop of red on your wrist, maybe even a salmon casual tee with a rolled up light washed jean? The options are limitless if you let yourself get adventurous with your duds.
The style of the summer also doesn’t always need to play off of bright splashes of color, but it can be a lot of fun. When dressing up a bit more, it can be as easy as wearing a well-fitted polo with a great trouser, or sporting some great shoes with mustard pants, and checker shirt and a tailored, unlined blazer.
So whether you’re hanging with the guys at a party, by the pool, or on a sweet patio having a drink, try having fun with your summer style! That way , you’ll not only be having fun with the boys, but the ladies/men (whatever your preference) will be noticing the well dressed posse. A killer piece is a great conversation starter, after all – and who knows, it could could lead to your next summer love, fling or something in-between, or even just a sweet new Tinder profile addition. Get cheeky!
Enjoy your summer and remember, stay stylish.
