The Forbidden City comes to Vancouver

Whilst in Vancouver recently we had the pleasure to visit the Vancouver Art Gallery to check out The Forbidden City Exhibition “Inside the Court of China’s Emperors” The Forbidden City Exhibition “Inside the Court of China’s Emperors”

This amazing exhibition shows a glimpse in the iconic and long-hidden era of chinese cultural history. For Five centuries (1416-1911) Chinese emperors made their home in the Forbidden city which was located in the heart of Beijing. An exclusive stronghold for only the Emperor his family and specially invited guests, this regal and immense palace captured the worlds attention for it’s sheer size, power, wealth and mystery of what actually took place behind those walls.

The vast collection on display which features personalized items from the collections of the emperors, one of a kind art works and clothing and so much more, giving a full window into what this opulent life was like for the “Kings” of the chinese empire and the ones lucky enough to live in their presence.
If you are in Vancouver or will be travelling there in the next month, this is a must see exhibition which we lovedd taking a step back in time too.

To sweeten the pot even more, our friends at Shangrila Vancouver are offering an amazing, exclusive trip for two to Beijing, including airfare courtesy of cathay pacific, a four night stay at the China World Summit Wing Shangri-La, and a private tour of the Forbidden City.

Head over to the Forbidden City Contest tab on their Facebook Page for contest details and to enter today.
