The Dirty Martini – the perfect beginning to a holiday evening

The holiday season is now in full swing and that means three things: lots of food, lots of parties, and lots of drinking. While we at Addicted always want to remind you to drink responsibly, we also want to help you drink strategically! At this time of year, gorging on delicious holiday delicacies should be your main priority, so starting your evening with a light yet delicious cocktail is your best bet to ensure maximum munching potential. This calls for a martini!

To put a tasty twist on a traditional martini, try one of my personal favorites, the Dirty Martini. The key to a great dirty martini is to start with a great vodka, and for me that means reaching for a bottle of Luksusowa.  Made from pure spring water and premium potatoes, Luksusowa is a great vodka to have on hand when you’re entertaining.  Not only is it flavorful without the harsh bite of some other vodkas, it’s made from potatoes so it’s great for any gluten free guests you may have over. Another important component to a dirty martini is a great olive in an oh-so perfect brine. After getting addicted to the Extreme Bean (check out our upcoming Caeser post for more on that), I discovered that Matt & Steve also make amazing olives. The B’nOlive is the perfect combination: a jumbo olive stuffed with an Extreme Bean.  It’s the perfect pairing for any martini, very dirty or clean.

Dirty Martini Recipe:

– 2 ounces (shots) of Luksusowa vodka
– 1/2 ounce of B’nOlive brine (to taste, I like my dirty martinis EXTRA dirty, so I always add a little extra)
– 1/8 ounce of extra-dry vermouth

Combine in a martini shaker of ice, shake-shake-shake and serve in your fanciest holiday martini glass

Try out this recipe for yourself and say cheers to the holiday party season!
