The Cheesecake Factory comes to Toronto

You won’t have to cross the border to satisfy your massive cheesecake cravings anymore. The Cheesecake Factory is coming to Toronto.

The history of the Cheesecake Factory, now a gastronomical juggernaut, actually began with some very humble roots in Detroit, Michigan inspired by one woman’s passion for making great cheesecake. The Cheesecake Factory opened its first location as a bakery in Los Angeles in 1972. Now the chain boasts many locations across the U.S. and around the world, with Canada becoming its next venture.

This year, the restaurant chain will break ground on its first Canadian location right here in Toronto. You won’t have to travel to the U.S. any more to experience its encyclopedic menu and over 50 signature cheesecakes and desserts . All you have to do is wait for Canada’s first Cheesecake Factory to open in the fall of 2017 in Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

The upcoming Yorkdale Cheesecake Factory location will span over 10,400SF with two covered patios. Its design will include imported limestone floors and custom wood columns, hand-painted murals and modern lighting, making it as palatable on the eyes as the food is on the tastebuds (but with far less calories).  But do they ever make those calories delicious to consume. The restaurant will offer its famous menu that includes: “super” foodspizzasglamburgers® & sandwichespastassteaks, chops, fish & seafoodskinnylicious®, Sunday brunch, all handmade, in-house with fresh ingredients.

“For nearly 40 years, The Cheesecake Factory has been known for creating delicious, memorable experiences for tens of thousands of Canadians visiting the U.S.,” said David Overton, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated. “We are now delighted to be expanding into Canada and are looking forward to opening in Yorkdale Shopping Centre in the Fall.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Canada’s first The Cheesecake Factory at Yorkdale” said Claire Santamaria, General Manager, Yorkdale Shopping Centre. “Elevating the customer experience is paramount at Yorkdale. The addition of this much-anticipated restaurant will be enthusiastically received by our customers.”
