While the Toronto International Film Festival most certainly centers around the films, TIFF has now become a platform for so many other facets and opportunites for so much more. From the music that will end up in Films, the the fashion that may be worn in them and on the red carpet, and the fabulous beauty, skincare ad even accessories, there is so much more to do, see and try than just seen great films, and for the celebrities and that means the gifting lounges.
There are so many gift bags, gifting lounges, photo lounges, and every other kind of lounge you can think of to pamper, entice and excite the gliterati that descend upon our city. You name it, they’ve got it, but one of these experiences that always stands out is the Tastemakers’ Lounge.
Tastemakers’, now in it’s tenth year, gives celebs and those who surround them the chance to take a break from the madness and crazy schedule of TIFF and tryout great products, fashion, food and so much more. What makes Tastemakers different, however, is their reputation for showcasing great products over the lifetime of the lounge, including many Canadian products. As well, each year they also have a philanthropic feature, this year’s being Lush cosmetics and their skincare product “Charity Pot”, from which 100% of the proceeds from that product go to Girls Rock Camp Toronto and also Children’s Piece theatre.
I had the pleasure of attending again this year and some of the standout products for me were the awesome and super convenient travel gear from Rise, the great new winter boots I scored from Sorel, great products from Lush which I’m already a fan of, and more so since I’ve heard whispers of new mens products coming, the Brita filtering bottle, which is perfect for me, the man who probably drinks 20 glasses of water a day.
Check out some of the celebs below who came through Tastemakers, and as always I hope you too had a great TIFF experience.
