Taking the “work” out of working out with Jabra and New Balance

I hate working out.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the fitness aspect I’m against. I’m fine with getting fit. It’s the boring cardio, the ugly gym, repeating the same exercise over and over in the hopes of tightening this or toning that, and above all else the time spent in said boring gym doing said repetitious exercises when I would rather be doing ANYTHING else that I resent. Since working out is a necessary evil, I’m always in search of ways to make it more pleasant, and recently I’ve been lucky enough to find two new allies in that battle: Jabra and New Balance.

An absolute necessity to any workout I do is a soundtrack.  Sometimes upbeat, sometimes angry, always fast and definitely loud, I need music to move.  My phone is always loaded up with my favourite workout tunes but until recently finding a good pair of headphones has been a struggle.  Wired headphones were a recipe for disaster – I was always that girl accidentally yanking them out of my ears while on the elliptical or trying to do a push up, much to my own embarrassment and minor physical pain.  That is, until Jabra Rox wireless ear buds came into my life.  Modeled after the same in-ear monitors used by professional musicians, Jabra Rox pack a big sound punch in a teeny, wire and accident free package.  It takes only moments to connect via bluetooth to my phone, and I’m good to go.  These little buds not only stay in my ear through cardio, stretching and weights, but they fill my workout world with the soundtrack of my choosing, eliminating outside annoyances and making my time in the gym fly by.  I sometimes even find myself working out a few minutes longer, just for the enjoyment of hearing that song I can’t get enough of flow into my brain through these wonderful wireless gems.

From my head down to my toes, my second ally in the battle against the boring workout comes in the form of some fabulous footwear: my New Balance 890v4 running shoes.  Normally, I don’t like to run unless it’s towards an open bar or away from a bad date, but these light as a feather runners make running feel fun and easy thanks to their REVlite cushioning. They also provide solid support even to my falling arches, and great traction for lifting weights and perfecting my form for squats, lunges, deadlifts and all other manner of muscle toning tactics. They even help keep me light on my feet during my boxing training. Aside from a perfect workout soundtrack, nothing beats a pair of cute, comfortable runners, and since these New Balance babies come in an array of fun bright colors to match any workout ensemble, they’re a huge win in my book.
