Whiskey – The Definitive World Guide

I love Whiskey. It’s true. Now that doesn’t just mean I like drinking it, I also really love learning about different brands, blends and types of whiskey.

So when I was running around at TIFF and came across the good people at DK Books who were featuring the book, I knew I had to get my hands on Whiskey – The Definitive World Guide.

Written by Michael Jackson and released by DK Books this marvellous guide will keep you learning something new daily.

From the specific brands and background on how they started to learning about the different areas in which whiskey is made, I was excited to flip through page after page.

The stories, info, and the sheer amount of facts will have any whiskey, scotch, rye,  or bourbon enthusiast intrigued and delighted as you transform yourself into the one at every party that can talk about angel share, blending whiskey or an array of other fun topics around the subject.

From the grain right to the glass, Whiskey shows you everything and anything you’ve ever wanted to know about whiskey, from storing and serving whiskey, to whiskey cocktails, to pairing whiskey with food and so much more.

In addition to a crisp clean design, this updated edition includes the recent names in whiskey today, a new section devoted to American craft distilleries, and the addition of new distilleries from across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

Not only that, this book is handsome. I know it’s a book, but it’s one good looking guide. From crisp photos of the whiskey to scenic landscape views, this book is not only packed with great info, it’s also the perfect coffee table book that will also have your guests talking.

That’s what I like to call a whiskey win/win.

Ready to learn about the most interesting spirit on the market today? Time to pick up Whiskey – The Definitive World Guide.
