Sip Happens – The Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned, a classic, a staple, and if made correctly, the perfect cocktail every time. It may be a classic, but it can still come in many forms, and this week, we take that to the limits with our friends at East Thirst Six.

For those of you that don’t know an Old Fashioned is a cocktail that’s made by muddling sugar with bitters, then adding alcohol, typically whiskey or brandy, and then a twist of citrus rind, my favourite being orange.

But that’s not where the limits lay with this cocktail, and nowadays with what seems to be more and more very skilled mixologists finding fun ways to put a spin on a classic, it really can make for quite the adventure in the clear similarities and vast differences of these fun array of drinks.
