Its festival season! That means camping, food trucks and, most importantly, stacked bills featuring all your favourite artists and bands. But what about the bands that don’t make the bold type? Those hidden gems are just your new faves waiting to be discovered.
I scoured the line-up for this year’s Riverfest in Elora and here are 3 bands and artists that I think should make your must-see list.
Ellevator: Ellevator take you a ride with their dreamy experimental pop. Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Ellevator are gaining traction. They recently opened up for The Arkells at their hometown Rally. The dreamy vocals win you over without even trying.
Listen to: New Survival
Cleopatrick: Cleopatrick are a two piece from Cobourg, Ontario. They have a funky, soulful and heavy rock and roll sound that’ll make you want to dance, shake, and mosh simultaneously. Seeing them live is captivating, and will leave you wondering how just two guys can make all these sounds.
Listen to: Belly Button Blues
The Sorority: The Sorority are the epitome of cool. A celebration of womanhood, these four hip hop artists are changing the game. Each member has their own time to shine and their own uniqueness to add to the group while still keeping the cohesiveness that makes the group so unique; classic yet contemporary.

But don’t take my word for it! No matter what festival you’re checking out, make sure to look beyond the headliners and seek out new music for yourself.
When it comes to festival season, we all come for the bands, but stay for the vibes and the memories.
