Raid My Makeup Bag – Eyes and Lips

If there’s one thing I’m obsessed with, it’s makeup. I’m constantly trying out new products, in an endless search for my new go-to lipstick, eyeliner, gloss, whatever. While I consider this search to be never-ending, I definitely develop a loyalty to a few gems along the way. Remember: it’s the journey, not the destination.

Here are a few of my new faves for fall/winter/life.

Maybelline’s Baby Lips Crystal Kiss Lip Balm

The first step to being a general female is to find that perfect lip balm. No matter who you are or what you’re into, I think it’s a safe assumption that you hate dry, chapped lips. It also sucks to choose a lip balm, only to find it makes matters worse. The solution: Baby Lips Crystal Kiss. The Crystal Kiss line adds a bit of shimmer to the brand’s already popular Baby Lips line of balms, making this the ideal lip product. You’re going to need to buy three: one for beside your bed, one to toss in your purse, and one as a backup. Trust me.

Maybelline’s ‘The Buffs’ by Color Sensational

If there are two things I am obsessed with, the second is definitely nude lips. I’m absolutely not a fan of harshly pigmented lipstick, since they tend to dry and flake and just generally look wretched (on me, anyway). Since I’m also a massive fan of heavy liner and smoky eyes, nude lips are a no-brainer. I always find that every nude lipstick I try is either way too pink or way too beige, but I’ve been obsessing over the Blushing Beige shade, which is the absolute perfect combination of both. If you’re as into nude lips as I am, you need this lipstick (and I mean need).

Maybelline’s Master Kajal Kohl Eyeliner

To elaborate on the heavy liner look I previously mentioned, if you’ve never tried a kohl liner before, now’s the time! I’m traditionally a liquid liner kind of girl, but since using this kohl liner, I think I’ve been converted. Kohl liners have been used for centuries in South Asia, North Africa and the Middle East, and for good reason. The creamy texture and intense pigmentation is ideal for anyone looking for this season’s hottest runway look for eyes (and who isn’t, am I right?).

Luckily, since these are all Maybelline products, you can snag them at your local drug store super cheap! Who said incredible makeup needs to be incredibly expensive? Because I don’t want to be friends with that person.
