When you’re downtown shopping and you want to find lunch, there are many choices, some are good, and some, not so much. So since we recently had a wonderful lunch at Hendriks, the latest addition to CF Eaton Centre, we just had to share with you.
Located in what used to be Baton Rouge, this freshly renovated restaurant is night and day from what was there before.
The inside is bright and fresh, airy and spacious and not only that, it’s still super laid back and casual, so whether you are having a meeting downtown, doing a bit of shopping or one of the many tourists that visit the area, Hendriks is the perfect spot to grab a drink or a meal.
From delicious drinks like their Basil Smash (pictured above), the cocktails are sure to delight.
As you move into starters there is a great offering of dishes that are sure to keep you happy whether for a snack or the starter of your meal.
The Baked Brie is a breaded piece of heaven wrapped in phyllo pastry and fig jam, and the Ahi Tuna Tartare with crispy chips was fresh and light; the perfect starter for summer.
As you move into the mains you can choose from a selection of steaks, sandwiches and some of their house specialities.
We really enjoyed:
MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN: roasted half chicken, crushed herbs, Mediterranean glaze, with garlic mashed potatoes. This chicken was so juicy and full of flavour.
CAMPFIRE BBQ DANISH RIBS: slow-cooked fall-off-the-bone tender, with creamy coleslaw and hand cut fries. Huge thumbs up for the ribs, and great price for what you get!
We had the Warm Walnut Brownie A-La mode for dessert and it was simply delicious. (we also think it’s made for two)
Between amazing service, great ambience, creative cocktails and some downright delicious food, we think you too should pay a visit to Hendriks at CF Eaton Centre next time you’re in the area. We promise you’ll be glad you did.
