Night on the Nile – a Toronto fundraising event this Thursday

Have you always wanted to visit Egypt?  See the pyramids, eat some local food, take a stroll along the Nile River?  If you’re in Toronto, you can travel to Egypt for just one night this week, at a great event for a great cause.

This Thursday November 24th in Toronto, it’s a Night on the Nile; an Egypt-themed fundraiser in support of the Alexandria Self Advocacy Resource Group in Egypt.

Community Living Toronto and Seamless Care Pharmacy, 2 organizations who work tirelessly to support the disabled community in the GTA, are coming together to bring you A Night on the Nile, an Egyptian themed fundraising event.  Like the name suggest, this event will be an elegant evening of delicious Egyptian Cuisine and dazzling entertainment, including a local belly dancer, a henna artist and an Arabic DJ.  And no Egyptian party would be complete without the perfect gourmet spread, which will be provided by the one and only Masrawy Kitchen, purveyors of Toronto’s most delicious and authentic Egyptian cuisine.

Night on the Nile will place Thursday November 24th at 65 The East Mall Venue in Etobicoke.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to an incredible Alexandria-based organization that is advocating for human rights and resources for those living with disabilities in Egypt: The Alexandria Self Advocacy Resource Group. The group is comprised of people with intellectual disability and their supporters from different organisations, working towards inclusion for people with disabilities within their communities, guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of persons with disabilities (CRPD).  They are a brand new organization needing funding and support from the ground up so they can take on their important work.
