Here at Addicted, we’ve always been huge fans of Canadian roots singer Brad Fillatre. After some time off from music, Brad has returned with a new single with a new album on the way.
When I first heard Brad’s music a few years ago, I was immediately drawn to the dark, brooding melodies, the poignant lyrics and the raw emotions that he evokes in his performances. His music has infiltrated our collective consciousness as the soundtrack to multiple MTV shows, including Jersey Shore, Catfish, Scrubbing In, Teen Mom 2 and 16 and Pregnant, and I was personally addicted to his album For Your Weakness. Every time I would see him out and about at various music shindigs, I would beg him to tell me when he would bless our ears with new music. For months he demurred, but the time as finally come!
“Strangers” is the brand new single from Brad Fillatre. Written in the winter of 2015, Brad collaborated with friend and fellow musician Adam Ferri and together they produced a new body of work that has taken Brad’s talent and sound to a new sonic plane. The lyric video created to accompany the single embodies the theme of the song: to be surrounded by strangers, alone despite all the bustle around you. Take a listen to “Strangers” below:
Dark, rootsy and ever so beautiful, “Strangers” is a reminder of what Brad Fillatre can do when it comes to music. I can’t wait to hear what else he has in store for us!
