Here at ADDICTED we’re, well, addicted to giving back. So when we heard that our friends over at Nando’s are reintroducing their popular Churrasco burger for the month of October in aid of fighting Malaria in Southern Africa, we just had to let you know.
A delicious combination of two flame-grilled chicken thighs, fino coleslaw, cheddar cheese and barbecue-flavoured Churrasco PERinaise – all packed into a traditional Portuguese roll – the Churrasco Burger is a fan favourite who’s return is highly anticipated after a limited return run back in February 2017.
Though you might not know it, Mozambique is the home of PERi-PERi. Sadly, the country is also a high risk area for contracting malaria, which, although an easily preventable and treatable disease, still kills thousands of people every year.
Throughout October, 25p from the sale of every Churrasco burger will be donated towards Nando’s Fighting Malaria, a campaign launched in 2017 to help fund spraying projects in the country.
In addition to the return of the Churrasco Burger, Nando’s is donating 10p from every purchase of a 2M beer towards the campaign too. What’s more, if you buy a Churrasco and a 2M, Nando’s will upgrade its contribution to 50p.
As if all of that wasn’t enough, Nando’s also recently launched a set of three beautifully crafted bracelets, which also raise funds for the Nando’s Fighting Malaria project. The bracelets, all handmade by communities in Southern Africa, will be available to purchase all year round in restaurants across the UK for a suggested donation of £3.50, which is enough to protect two lives against malaria for a year.
So why not make your next Cheeky Nando’s a lifesaving one?
