I recently had the pleasure of sitting down to dinner and of course drinks with the brewmasters from Mill St. Brewery, at their stunning brewpub outdoor space in Toronto.
The evening was an opportunity to learn about the latest offering aka new beers, right from the people who made them as we tasted our way through 4 new brews, as well as two Mill St favs, that all together make up the Summer BrewPub Pack.
So what are the great new craft beers that you too need to try? Let’s begin.
Honest Bucker Pale Ale from Calgary
This American-style pale ale from the Calgary Brewpub features Mosaic hops for a tropical aroma and a deliciously dry finish that is as reliable as its namesake.
The Bucker has such great smell and flavour it really does set you up for what follows, an equally great craft beer that stands out from the usual and offers something a little bit different.
Walker’s Blueberry Wheat from Toronto
A Canadian twist on a whimsical fruit beer design.
This blueberry beer isn’t overwhelming like some “fruity” beers but has a subtle delicious undertone in the beer that makes it an essential for summer, regardless of who you are.
Can you tell I really love this one?
Stone Mason Ale from Ottawa
A traditional English bitter hailing from the limestone mill building that houses our Ottawa Brewpub. Created by Head Brewer to honour his English father’s memory and the first pint they shared. Light, malty and delicately hopped.
This is a sturdy delicious malty beer that makes the perfect pairing for seafood, or a works perfectly as a cold one on a hot day.
Jigger’s Delight California Common from St John’s
From our St. John’s brewpub our California Common beer is an old style of table beer fermented warm and then aged cold for a unique smoothness. Whether yer a Bayman, a Townie or Come From Away, it’s a Rock solid pint.
If you’re looking for something that appeals to the most amount of people, I would say that this would be your pick. Easy drinking, easy taste, easy going down.
Also included in the brewpub pack, the Mill St Organic and the West Coast Style IPA.
