I love featuring stories that inspire here on Addicted, especially stories about inspiring women. Now I’ve discovered a platform that’s dedicated to exactly that. That platform is MAKERS.
MAKERS is a women’s leadership platform that showcases the stories women doing groundbreaking things, women who will grow to be the leaders of tomorrow. Launched in 2012 in the U.S., the project has now expanded globally, with MAKERS China in 2014, MAKERS Canada in 2015 and now MAKERS UK in 2016. The series features women from all walks of life, all who are doing inspiring things. With over 3,000 videos featuring more than 300 women, MAKERS is the largest collection of the stories women that has ever been assembled. Women like media mogul Oprah Winfrey and Presidential Candidate Hilary Clinton are featured along with women like Anne Marie Imafidon from the STEMettes, an organization encouraging young girls and women to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and Laura Bates, feminist and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, an organization that shares women’s experiences of every day sexism. From broadcast documentaries, web and mobile-first video content, and live events, MAKERS celebrates women in so many different ways. Check out this video, sponsored by Paco Rabanne below, and you’ll see what I mean.
Head over to the MAKERS website to learn more about this incredible platform. Watch the stories of women working tirelessly to make the world a better place for women and girls everywhere, and learn how you or someone you know can share your own story.
