Ask Your #ManCrushMonday: Curses

This week we were lucky enough to have not just one MCM, but four! You’ve likely heard of the Toronto-based band Curses, who have been blowing up like crazy these days. With a fresh new release this week (which you can stream early from Exclaim! here), and an extensive Canada/US tour over the next month, we were pleased these guys could take the time to answer some dating questions for us. Read on for their opinions on Oysters and Pink Power Rangers.
What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?
Martin: The first thing I notice is definitely my personal connection with a girl and if I can be my silly self in front of them.

Who would you want to have make the first move?

Daniel: Usually I want to make the first move but I don’t mind a girl with a little confidence

What is your ideal first date?

Michael Ferriera: My ideal first date would probably include some really good oysters and some pool. Surrounded by drinks.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

Daniel: People that come on too strong

Who do you go to for dating advice?

Martin: Honestly I am a complete hopeless romantic and I sometimes hate it because I relate my love situations with movies. So for that I would have to say fake fictional characters in movies is where I get my advice from. *sigh*
Who was your first celebrity crush?
Michael Ferriera: My first celebrity crush was either the pink power ranger from the 90’s Amy Jo Johnson or Tiffany Thiessen from Saved by the Bell.

Have you ever done something crazy to get a crush’s attention?

Michael Farina: I can’t recall any time where I’ve done anything crazy really. The craziest thing I’ve done by todays standards is actually call someone the next day after meeting them. Crazy, right?

How do you feel about public displays of affection?

Michael Farina: No one answered this.. not sure why, but I don’t have an answer.

What’s the best date you’ve ever been on?

Michael Farina: Literally any date I’ve ever been on with my girlfriend, Samantha, has been the best date I’ve been on.
