Live Music Tuesday – Charlotte Cardin at The Great Hall

Montreal songstress, Charlotte Cardin packed The Great Hall on March 23 and 24 for two incredible performances.
Soulful singer Ralph opened the evening with a bouncy set coloured with 80s reminiscent beats and laid-back, yet punchy vocals. Numbers like Tease, from the self-titled EP kept the crowd dancing along. As well, the recently-released September Fades proved to be just as amazing live. The new single had eager fans swaying along to a shy, unassuming chorus accented by colourful, funky beats. Following Ralph’s set, Charlotte Cardin’s minimal, yet arresting stage presence took over the venue. Wistful verses, a stellar range, and an immense amount of vocal control made each song a captivating experience. From melancholy jazz numbers like Big Boy to the thoughtful musings of Just Like That, the singer-songwriter delivered a set that could not disappoint.
