Introducing No. 27 GMT Edition from The Camden Watch Company

The Camden Watch Company is our new favourite independent British watch brand. Based in the heart of Camden, London and founded by Anglo-Swiss wife and husband team Anneke Short and Jerome Robert in 2014, the company recently launched its latest design; the No. 27 GMT Edition.

Rarely does a brand truly excite us and it’s even less often that we’re introduced to one that we fall instantly in love with but that’s exactly what happened when we were invited to meet Anneke and Jerome at their flagship store in Camden’s famous Stables Market.

Talking to Anneke and Jerome is as much an education in Camden and its rich industrial history as it is about what they put on your wrist. Every watch has its own story and every detail is carefully considered and that’s what sets them apart from other watch brands. The Camden Watch Company has a soul and it’s evident in everything they do.

In just five short years, an idea that started as a way to showcase their passion for watch design to their clients has grown into a global brand. Alongside their flagship store in Camden, The Camden Watch Company offers free global shipping to all its customers online and has expanded to locations in Boxpark in Shoreditch and Greenwich Market. And it’s Greenwich this time that lends its heritage to the No. 27 GMT Edition.

No. 27 GMT Edition

The No.27 GMT Edition watch is inspired by the birthplace of modern timekeeping and more specifically the red time ball atop Greenwich observatory that drops every day at 13.00. The red hand points to an outer 24 hour GMT track, meaning you can easily check what time it is ‘back home’.

An homage to the rich maritime history of Greenwich and Great Britain in general, the unisex No. 27 GMT Edition is available online and in store in 4 colours; Rose Gold and Tan and Rose Gold and Black, both featuring a black dial and Steel and Tan and Steel and Black, both featuring a white dial. There is also a fifth No. 27 GMT, The Greenwich Edition, featuring a navy blue dial and a red 13 on the GMT track that is available to buy exclusively in their Greenwich store.

An instant classic, the No. 27 looks as good with a pair of jeans and rolled up shirt sleeves as it does accessorising your evening wear. Not only that, the watches start at just £155 which is a steal for a timepiece of this quality.
