Here in Toronto, we’re in the home stretch of the NBA Finals and the whole city is looking for some good vibes ahead of tonight’s Game 6. The Raptors could make history by winning their first EVER NBA Championship, and basketball fever has taken over the whole city.
This week, some handy folks with hearts of gold have been working to refresh several basketball courts around Toronto’s downtown core. Dozens of nets and 600+ basketballs were donated and installed in 12 courts throughout the downtown core, with more nets being replaced over the next week. The City of Toronto also received a $15,000 to refresh additional basketball courts across the Greater Toronto Area.
Here’s a list of the courts that have been refreshed to date:
Weston Lions Park
Dufferin Grove Park
Stanley Park
Christie Pits Park
McCormick Park
Charles G Williams Park
Scadding Court
Moss Park
Underpass Park
Regent Park
David Crombie Park
Jack Goodlad Park
We love that there is so much positivity that has come out around the Raptors and that the whole city, and even the country, has rallied around this team. Let’s keep this positivity going by supporting those in our communities who need it, donating to great causes that help young people from marginalized communities gain access to play sports safely, and by using these newly refreshed courts with our friends and families. Let’s go Raptors! #WetheNorth #6ixin6
