There’s a reason why Vegas is THE destination for girls trips. From the opulent hotels and high-end spas to the electric nightclubs and 5-star restaurants, Vegas was made for the motto of “go big or go home!” Now, once upon a time, Vegas was the metropolis for “boys holidays” or “stag parties”… but now, “Sin City” is quickly becoming the destination for women to jet off to for a whirlwind weekend of escaping reality!
Being that Vegas has the nickname of “adult’s playground,” it’s all the more reason to visit and see all that it has to offer! Now, if it will be anyone in your group’s first time visiting Vegas, then just know that there’s nothing like visiting Vegas for the first time.
You have it in your mind that you’ll have as epic of a weekend as the guys had in the movie The Hangover… well, you and your girlfriends can definitely have that epic weekend in Vegas with the right planning and of course, circumstance! For the ultimate girls’ trip in Vegas, stick to this guide! You’ll be glad you did!
Give Yourself a Gambling Budget and Limit and Stick to It!!
The LA Times produced an article speaking to an MGM Resorts Executive Vice President where he gave advice to future gamblers saying “when you come to Vegas and gamble, hope to win but expect to lose.” That’s the mindset you and your girlfriends need to have when you visit and gamble. You, of course, want to have fun but you need to be smart about your money in Vegas casinos… you can easily get sucked in!
One thing you can do is have everyone on the girls trip hold each other accountable for how much you all spend in the casinos. Tell your girls your spending cap and ask them to help you stick to your budget and limit.
***One thing to keep in mind is the plusher the casino is, the more difficult your odds will be at winning on the machines and the tables will have bigger buy-ins, so you may want to also visit older casinos further from the strip for a better chance of winning***
Pack Necessities for “Anything Goes!”
Nothing can be worse than going to Vegas and forgetting something at home. Sure there are local drug stores in Vegas that you’ll be able to find just about anything you may need but it’s not the same as having your own stuff.
Remember, you’re in Vegas so everything from sunscreen to big hoop earrings is all necessary for your epic trip! Just to be sure that you don’t forget anything, you’ll want to create a packing list to make sure you don’t forget anything! There are also packing hacks you can follow to make packing go a little easier for you. Your packing list for a Vegas girls trip should look a little something like this:
- 3-4 swimsuits (to give you multiple options for pool parties)
- 2 daytime dresses for brunch, etc
- 4 pairs of denim shorts
- 5 clubbing outfits
- 2-3 pairs of sunglasses
- 2 jackets
- 1 pair of tennis shoes
- 3 pairs of flat/sandals
- 3 pairs of high heels
- Toiletries: hair care essentials, makeup, jewellery, etc.
Invite the Right Types of Girlfriends
It’s very obvious that you want to invite the right girlfriends on a girls trip. So that means, only friends that will be fun… the worst thing you can do is invite someone who doesn’t get along with anybody and ultimately ends up being the “buzz kill” of the trip.
There really needs to be a good mixture of different personalities. You might not necessarily want to invite ladies that might be drinkers nonstop or someone who doesn’t drink at all and will be judgmental of those that do drink… after all, it is Vegas!
When choosing friends to invite, make sure to have a discussion about the expectations of activities, dining, and schedules before leaving for the trip.
Party VIP Style
You can’t honestly say that you’re going on a girls trip without partying it up VIP style. A lot of people tend to think that VIP is only for the night scene but in Vegas, anything goes whether it’s day time or night time!
There are exclusive day time pool parties that you and your girlfriends can experience pool partying at its finest! All you have to do is get on the guest list! Once you get on the guest list, your partying options are endless. Just imagine tricked-out bungalows, signature cocktails, celebrity pop-ups, and music from the hottest DJs! These are the types of pool parties where you’ll be glad you packed a few extra swimsuits!
Stay Hydrated and Try to Avoid Possible Hangovers
Now, you must remember that Being in Vegas also means that you have to realize that you’re also in a desert. It may not seem like it on the Vegas strip but that sun can do real damage if you’re not careful.
You, of course, want to make sure you packed sunblock but you also need to make sure you’re drinking plenty of water too regardless of how many cocktails are placed in front of you! Drinking more cocktails than water also leads to those terrible hangovers too.
You want to definitely have a good time but you also want to have a good time and be able to get up the next today and do it all over again without the headaches and nausea associated with hangovers… so drink plenty of water!
