Along with any great product comes a great advertising campaign! So it was no surprise when iconic Japanese beer Sapporo recently released an amazing new commercial: Legendary BĬRU: After Dark.
Sapporo, the oldest beer brand in Japan, was born in Sapporo, Japan in 1876 by the German-trained lager brewer Seibei Nakagawa. Iconic in its tall, proud silver can, Sapporo continues to be a favourite for beer drinkers the world over.
The new campaign for “After Dark” incorporates the brand’s Japanese heritage by bringing together traditional iconography in a hot, hip, urban setting.

The new commercial features amazing Sumi-e animation, which is a traditional Japanese ink wash that dates back over 1,000 years. When we asked about the ad, Sapporo told us that from the beginning to the end, putting the spot together took 18 months and spanned several countries, including the US and South Africa.
So since summer is (finally and officially) here – and since we at Addicted have already been enjoying the cool, clean taste of Sapporo – we wanted to give you that chance to try it for yourself.
Join us on Twitter @WeRAddicted and tweet to us “I want to enjoy the summer with #Sapporo and @WeRAddicted #AddictedToSapporo”.
