From February 17 to 19, TIFF Bell Lightbox will transform into a film paradise for young film lovers during Next Wave.
They have FREE movies for anyone under 25 (you heard us!), amazing guests, workshops for young creators, the 24-Hour Film Challenge, and the always epic kickoff at Battle of the Scores. Did we mention there’s free WiFi throughout the building, a fort to hang out in between films, AND free pizza? You might never want to leave.
First Wave Includes:
Battle of the Scores + Party:
This live competition challenges high-school bands to create and perform original scores for an original short film. The winner is determined by audience votes and a panel of judges from the Toronto music and film community.
Join us right after for the Next Wave Opening Night Party!
Young Creators Co-Lab:
New this year, TIFF Next Wave introduces the Young Creators Co-Lab on February 17 — a full day of workshops and panels exclusively for youth to connect with industry professionals and collaborate on all things film.
Freaks and Geeks:
Five films. One day. So many feels.
Celebrate the messy, glorious drama AND comedy of youth. Sometimes it’s glam, and sometimes (okay, always) it’s awkward. In these films, no two people are the same and we think that’s awesome
24-Hour Film Challenge:
24 hours, 24 teams, 24 films! Grab some friends and sign up for this exciting challenge to write, shoot, edit and submit an entire short film in only 24 hours (February 11–12).
Completed films screen at TIFF Bell Lightbox on February 19.
So get out, take in a few flicks and have some fun this February with TIFF and Next Wave.
