Whether you are an espresso drinker, coffee, cappuccino or one of the many other choices of delicious wake up, after dinner, or anytime beverages, you should be happy to know that Second Cup has brought an old favorite from our friends down under to Canadian coffee drinkers with their Flat White.
Now I’m sure you are thinking:What is a Flat White, and what makes it different from all the other “Coffee” choices out there? Well, Flat White is an espresso-based coffee made with a double shot of rich Espresso Forte, velvety steamed milk and a thin layer of micro-foam and it has a higher proportion of espresso-to-milk than a latte or cappuccino.
The Flat White features double the espresso and less milk than a latte, and double the espresso and less foam than a cappuccino. Here’s how the beverages compare:
I really enjoyed the Flat White. It still has that rich, bold and robust flavour mixed with a creamy and velvety taste of the micro foam, making it a little less edgy than an espresso shot, and also much less dairy based and filling than a latte.
