Here at ADDICTED, we are all about positive change, so when we were tipped off about Dine to Donate, we just had to learn more.
Dine to Donate is a registered, incorporated charitable foundation with a mission to bring Canada’s best restaurants and their patrons together in support of hunger and poverty reduction programs in their communities. Founded in Toronto with a national vision, the foundation is dedicated to giving every person in Canada a seat at the table.
Dine to Donate’s first fundraising contest brings together some of Toronto’s most innovative and socially conscious restaurants to support the city’s leading advocates for hunger and poverty reduction, including Second Harvest, the Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank, Nellie’s Shelter, Haven Toronto, and Elizabeth Fry Toronto.
The reality is that not only are their thousands of Canadian’s that need help with getting the right nutrition for their diet based on financial constraints, Canadians as a whole also waste an astronomical amount of food each year, so bringing these much needed programs together, over dinner no less, sounds like a brilliant idea to us!
On top of this being a much-needed initiative in Toronto and right across the nation, by making a donation you could also win big.
One lucky winner will receive the grand prize of eight meals-for-two with an approximate value of $1,500.
The contest can be entered through the purchase of a $25 entry or submission of a 250-word original essay, with no limit to the number of entries per person, and with each $25 entry, you can help alleviate hunger for many throughout our city.
The Carbon Bar, Miku, Barsa Taberna, Awai, Adega, Eastside Social, Pollyanna, and Cherry St. BBQ headline this innovative fundraising effort.
