Crushing on London Brown from Ballers

It’s been a while since we’ve engaged in a good crush over here at ADDICTED, but when we come across someone as crushworthy as London Brown, we just couldn’t help ourselves.

Hailing from Los Angeles, London Brown is an actor, comedian and dancer.  As a comedian, London opened for the likes of Chris Tucker, and won the title of Best International Comedian Award at the Black Comedy Awards in 2013.  He starred in The Hustle on the Fuse Network.  These days you can catch London on Ballers, an HBO series starring Dwane “The Rock” Johnson.

We got the chance to chance to chat with London about his views on love, romance and everything in between.  We’re already swooning, and you will be too.

What is the first thing that you notice about a potential love interest?

Her energy is the thing I’m checking for. How comfortable is she with herself and the space she’s in. Confidence is major. It’s attractive to a guy.

What is your definition of romance?

Personalizing ideas. It could be a gift, visiting places or language. By language I mean, developing a unique style of communication that only the two of you can speak. This allows you to always be connected even when others are around. This creates a closeness which acts as an unspoken emotional bond … no pun intended. And depending on where the two people are, this can be a fun way to flirt, causing some good physical tension.

What is your ideal first date/ what’s the best date you’ve ever been on?

First dates can be interesting because usually, well in my past experiences, we don’t quite know each other.  I’m the kind of guy who tends to get better over time because I study the woman I deal with. I want to learn all the things that make her smile and cry. So, as far as the best date I’ve ever been on. I’m still planning it. Each date I work to make it better than the last by changing or adding something different. Sometimes it can be a wardrobe thing, a game I makeup on the drive to the restaurant or being adventurous like parking illegally to do a random Photoshoot… I have some ideas. Really charming things that I want to explore. I’m just working a lot NOW so that I can execute them the way I like financially later.

What’s your instant deal breaker?

Negative energy…. I can’t do it. Things like this won’t be worked out over a couple of dates.  There are usually some core issues that haven’t been resolved yet. And I don’t want to deplete my energy trying to rescue someone from their misery over a steak and lemon water.

What is the best piece of romance advice you have ever received?

A good friend of mine told me to always keep this idea somewhere in the back of my brain. It’s not traditional but has helped me to keep my emotions in check. He said, “London, you have to remember, you’re not the only one.” What this does is help to keep me on top of business. When I deal with the woman, I’m trying to be very effective in how I move about.  Dress very well, wear a scent that will be around long after I’ve left her, cook a dish with details that reflect how much I care and so forth.  Random flowers and notes written of compliments placed throughout the house, just because….

What’s the strangest thing you have ever done to get a love interest’s attention?

The strangest thing I’ve done was be myself. I’ve never been into doing anything extra for a woman’s attention. I try to be the best me. It’s less work because I have a good idea about who I am. Being me allows me to find out who is really comfortable with who I am but more so, who’s comfortable with who THEY are when they are around me.

What’s the strangest thing someone has done to get your attention?

I had someone fly out the country to meet me at a comedy show I was doing. No warning what so ever. I kept calm because when you deal with psychologically interesting people, you don’t want to make any sudden movements or get them too excited to quickly. The other comics were asking me what was up. I had no answer. I believe I’m funny with what I do but not follow me out the country in HOPE to connect with me-funny. Needless to say, I went back to my hotel room alone, and slept with my light on all night. (As he laughs) with 911 on speed dial…

If there was one piece of advice you could give to other men/women out there, what would it be?

Find someone who is already happy. You want to connect with someone who creates peace when they are around you. Also someone who shares the same values. If you’re someone who likes to save and you find someone who likes to spend, it won’t be good. If you’re spiritual and your partner isn’t, won’t work. Or if you like getting into disagreements, this is your match. I can’t do it personally.

What advice do you have for keeping the romance alive in a relationship?

Creating fun spontaneous changes. If you are only being intimate at home in bed, switch it up. To develop some trust with your partner, try being close someplace different with mid risks of being caught. This creates some fun excitement and tension.  Role-playing, and for kicks, physical touch that suggests more touching will happen later at home…
