Craving Cresta

When it comes to eating out, there are a few factors that always figured into your decision of where to go. Superior service, well that’s surely a must. Great drinks, for someone like me, we all know that is key, and of course, what matters to myself and probably all of you, there has to be amazing food.

So since we consider it our job and privilege to keep you informed on the best places to go, after recently sitting down to dinner at Cresta Restaurant we just had to let you know all about it, since we are giving them are first Addicted Eats stamp of approval for the summer as one of our “Must Dine” spots in the city.


Square on the corner of the esplanade and market street this newly opened sure fire summer hot spot has all the bases covered when it come to dining and having a great night.

We are driven by our passion to bring to Toronto a focused pairing of world class Californian wines with traditional and innovative Italian cuisine.  Named after one of California’s most iconic vineyards, Cresta Ridge vineyard of Thomas George Estates, cresta’s refined decor and open environment are truly reminiscent of a Californian dining experience.

We started the night off at Cresta with some great wine from their vineyard as we looked through the menu and tried to decide what we wanted to try.

We started off with the Salumi (artisanal cured meats, assorted cheeses and foie gras, sausage) which was quickly followed up by quite possibly the most delicious balsamic brussel sprouts I have ever tasted.

As we enjoyed more wine along the way, we moved onto Beet Risotto, which if you haven’t tried it, you must as it is truly indulgent, without being overly heavy. We followed that up with their saffron poached seabass, which was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by, red pepper purée, fingerling potatoes, heirloom carrots and made for a wonderful seafood main course.

So let’s recap: Great service, along with a perfect wine and drink selection, check, amazing food served by a top notch staff, yes, the chances you’ll also love Cresta, I would say that’s an almost a sure thing, and you don’t get that to often in life, do you.
